Designing and building in the Topsail area since 2012

About Our Company

Beginnings

In 2012 after spending many summers on Topsail Island vacationing with family, our owner, Andrew Sanderson made the move to Surf City. Bringing his lawn maintenance company, Sanderson Lawn Management, LLC with him.

After nearly a decade of maintaining and installing landscapes in the area, he saw the demand for a contractor who was knowledgeable, honest, and had the tools to provide clients with a space that was more than just another landscape. From there, Topsail Outdoor Living was born.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help clients take their dream outdoor space from idea, to design, to a breathtaking finished product all while exceeding expectations along the way. Our experienced team takes pride in their work and will not say a project is done until every last detail is perfect.

Meet The Owner - Andrew Sanderson

I was born in a small town in Eastern North Carolina and grew up spending summers with my Grandmother, who lived in Topsail Beach. As a young man I enjoyed being outdoors and decided to purchase a mower and go to work, earning spending money while doing something I enjoyed.

After High School, I attended North Carolina State University and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Turfgrass Science. During college I kept up my mowing business and after graduating in 2009, decided to incorporate Sanderson Lawn Management and begin my career.

Moving to Surf City full time in 2012, I quickly learned that doing what you say you will do, when you are supposed to do it will go a long way in our area. Our business flourished and before long, our landscape maintenance clients were asking us to design and install their landscapes. With the desire to better serve our clients, I began training in 3D landscape design, hardscape and outdoor living spaces. I created Topsail Outdoor Living as a place to hone our skills, all while providing clients with a level of professionalism unseen in our area to date.

When I am not designing or constructing outdoor spaces, you can find me with my wife Katie and our dog Roni, out on the water, walking Lea Island, or attending NC State events in Raleigh.
